Cetyl Alcohol: Is a gentle fatty alcohol used as an emollient (moisturising ingredient), emulsifier, thickener, and carrying agent for other ingredients. On the contrary, it's an emollient that helps the skin retain moisture. Cetyl alcohol is soothing for the skin and is one of the most non toxic skincare ingredients available. Not to be confused with more aggressive alcohols like isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, cetyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol that is gentle on the skin. Also, not to be confused with cetearyl alcohol (made from cetyl and stearyl alcohols)!

Cocamidopropyl Betaine: Works as a cleanser and conditioner, though it’s primarily a surfactant. Surfactants are ingredients that attract dirt and oil so that you can rinse them off of your skin or hair. Cocamidopropyl betaine is made of fatty acids derived from coconut oil and blended with other elements. Cocamidopropyl betaine contains coconut oil, which is hydrating. It's less drying than other surfactants. Cocamidopropyl betaine reduces the drying effects of harsher detergents in skin and hair care products. Cocamidopropyl betaine makes products feel thicker and creamier. It's a thickening agent that adds viscosity to products. This makes them feel richer and makes them less likely to drip while you use them

I started Spice of life in Hampshire, UK in 2019. I have always made products to help the body and skin for myself, family & friends, and I also learnt some natural homemade skin care recipes as a child. I have always suffered from sensitive skin and couldn't use shop bought products. One morning at 2am I had an epiphany, and it came to me to make soaps. So, at 2am I booked a soaping course and decided to make it a business even before I started and to eventually become a family business. I formulated my recipes for my sensitive and dry skin. I have now expanded my ideas and now adventure into making beautiful products to love your hair and skin. I hope you like these products as much as we do.
